Ducks Come Back Late to Clip Bulldogs
|
The Long Island Ducks dealt the Spokane Bulldogs a 9-4 loss at The Kennel. Yoshitoki Kitamura was the star on offense. He went 1-2 with a home run and 3 walks, while scoring 2 runs. With the loss, Spokane falls to 4-4.
The game was at a stalemate until left fielder Nobuharu Ageda came to bat in the top of the eighth. Facing Spokane pitcher Joseph Drury, he hit a 0-1 cutter for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Long Island on top, 5-3.
"When this team comes together and plays the way we can, we can compete with anyone," said Ageda. "I think we're going to keep proving that."
