Cornhuskers Come Up Short at New York
|
New York beat DeKalb at Confucius Field, escaping with a 6-5 win. The win in large part was due to catcher Kuma Ichihara, who earned player of the game honors. He went 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The loss drops DeKalb to 3-5.
Ichihara's nice game included a clutch 2-run home run in the bottom of the first.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Ichihara said.
