Eddie MacClung never let the Red Bulls get in a groove. The left-hander used his bread and butter, his cutter, to pitch the Hawks to a 4-1 win. Juan Pérez picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Lucas van Alpen was tagged with the loss. Losses have been few and far between for the Red Bulls, who are now 3-1.

Pete Freeman had a productive trip to the plate with no one out in the bottom of the sixth inning. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a run-scoring double, helping Boise to the win.

"Eddie did a tremendous job," said Boise manager Arinori Nakamura.
