Cornhuskers Get Past Rock River for 8-7 Win
DeKalb beat Rock River at The Corn Crib, eking out a 8-7 win. The win was due in large part to third baseman Chris Bramel, who earned player of the game honors. DeKalb reliever David Gilmour picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-0. George Fortin Jr. was collared with the loss. DeKalb, now 3-1, is setting the league on fire so far.

In the bottom of the ninth, with one out and the game tied, 7-7, center fielder Eric Farlin won it for DeKalb. With the bases loaded, Farlin hit a first pitch forkball from George Fortin Jr. for a run-scoring single, giving his team a 8-7 win.

"Great to get the crowd on its feet," Farlin said.
