Tanaka Leads Mustang to Win over Storm Troopers
Carson City and San Antonio got after it at The Clone Army.

The Carson City Mustang got production from their entire lineup in an easy 13-3 win over the San Antonio Storm Troopers. Player of the game honors went to right fielder Kichisaburo Tanaka. Tanaka was 2-4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 4. Maurice Bignold, the winner, improved to 1-0. He held the Storm Troopers to 2 earned runs on 3 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 3. Yoshimochi Chikuda recorded his 1st save for Carson City.

Héctor Martínez's at-bat in the top of the second was significant for the Mustang. Coming to the plate with the bases loaded and Carson City leading 2-1, the third baseman got hit by a pitch, driving in 1 run.

"We need to string a few more wins like this one together," said Martínez.

Carson City, now 1-2, is off to a slow start.
