In a low-scoring clash between Wichita and Madison, pitcher Adam Andersen was a difference-maker. The right-hander earned player of the game honors for Wichita in the 3-2 win. The winner was Seung-jin Hwang in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Thurman Snider took the loss. The loss drops Madison to 0-2.
The game came to an abrupt end with two out in the bottom of the 11th. On a pitch from Thurman Snider, Brian Nadin reached on an error by the SS, driving in 1 run. It gave Wichita the 3-2 walk-off win.
Madison manager Quinn Patrick said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
