Hawks Win at Jacksonville, 8-3
|
The Jacksonville Hellcats opened their 2032 season with a disappointing 8-3 loss to the Boise Hawks at Hellcats Park. Shortstop Mario Montoya was a big part of the win for Boise. He went 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Boise reliever Andrés Seánez picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Tetsuzan Ono was saddled with the loss.
Lance Russell didn't waste any time giving his team the lead. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a run-scoring double to put Boise on top, 1-0.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Montoya.
