The Riverside Red Bulls put one in the win column with an opening day 2-1 triumph over the Youngstown Tune-Ups. The crowd at Red Bull Stadium watched Héctor González put on a fine performance, for which he was named player of the game. Kevin Spurr earned the save for Riverside, his 1st.

Youngstown had little success against González and his fastball. González tossed 93 pitches over 8 innings for the Red Bulls.
