Fans who gathered at Durham Bulls Athletic Park saw a good contest between the Fairfield Flash and Chicago Titans.

Eric Humphrey had a good game, but he could not keep the Chicago Titans from falling, 6-5, to the Fairfield Flash at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. The Chicago right fielder was 2-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once in the loss. Fairfield reliever Pat Bertram was credited with the win, to go to 6-3. Tsuneyo Kichikawa took the loss for Chicago. Jamie Newitt earned the save, his 4th, for the Flash.

Fairfield took a 6-5 lead on Nathan Sewell's 9th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Sewell hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Chicago pitcher Matt Calderón visibly frustrated.

"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Fairfield manager Gary Altman.

With the victory, the Flash record now stands at 99-63.
