Freeze Stymie Pasadena, Take 7-1 Win
|
The Minneapolis Freeze went home winners at The Hole, thanks in large part to starter Curt Hart. Hart silenced the Pasadena Bumblebees, enabling Minneapolis to grab the 7-1 win. With the win, Minneapolis goes to 94-68, while the Bumblebees fall to 69-93.
It could have been a different outcome for Minneapolis, had it not been for Gerardo Avilés, the 22-year old center fielder . Avilés contributed a run-scoring triple in the top of the fifth inning to put Minneapolis up, 3-1.
"I told our guys, 'Runs don't score by themselves,'" said Avilés. "You need someone to get on base and someone to drive them in."
