Losing Streak Continues for Bombers with 8-5 Loss to Argonauts
The Astoria Argonauts defeated the Bronx Bombers, 8-5, at Bronx Ballpark today. Leading the charge for Astoria was center fielder Pat Schmoll. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Astoria reliever Sawao Yoshimura picked up the win, upping his record to 3-4. Trey Robinson took the loss. The losses continue to add up for Bronx, which has now fallen 13 times in a row.

Astoria grabbed control in the top of the seventh. With one out and the bases loaded, Yaichiro Yokoyama delivered a 2-run single, to make it 7-5 in favor of the Argonauts.

In comments to the Astoria Citizen, Yokoyama insisted that he's not as disinterested as it often appears. "Haters will hate," he added.
