Huang Shines in Freeze Win
|
The Minneapolis Freeze beat the Pasadena Bumblebees, 11-6, at The Hole. The win was largely due to the efforts of third baseman Wang Huang, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. Mitsuharu Nakashima got the win, improving to 10-2. He held the Bumblebees to 2 earned runs on 4 hits over 6.1 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 3. The first-place Freeze have their sights set on making a deep playoff run.
Early in the game, Huang had a 2-run home run for Minneapolis. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Freeze on top, 4-2.
"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager John Justin.
