The Vancouver Canadians picked up a win at Albuquerque Sports Stadium, knocking off the Albuquerque Cacti, 5-3. Starting pitcher Po-sin Pang was an essential part of his team's success. Vancouver reliever Fernando López got the win, raising his record to 3-3. Hisataro Sato was tagged with the loss. Earning his 20th save for Vancouver was Alexis Coates.
Scotty Hudson made it 5-3 in favor of Vancouver when he delivered a 2-run home run. It came with one out in the top of the eighth. The Canadians went on to win.
"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Pang said.
The Canadians raised their record to 79-82.
