Durán Helps Antioch Cruise to 11-3 Win
|
Manny Durán was instrumental in his team's 11-3 triumph over the Billings Mustangs. The right fielder was 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3 for the Antioch Coal Miners. Lester Bisdu picked up the win with 9 innings of work. He allowed 3 earned runs on 5 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 7. On the season, he is now 19-8. The first-place Coal Miners, at 110-50, now lead their division by 18 games.
The Coal Miners grabbed the lead in the bottom of the second. With one out, Roger Schäfer, the 24 overall pick in the 2026 draft, hit a 2-run home run off Gang-sheng Lew, putting Antioch in front, 3-2. For Schäfer, it was his 17th home run of the season.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Antioch manager John Smiley.
