Freedom Bang Out 8-5 Win Versus Peoria
|
The Philadelphia Freedom topped the Peoria Caterpillars, 8-5, with second baseman Wang-gi Park playing a big role. Park went 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Freedom in the win. Reggie Casteel earned the win for Philadelphia. He lasted 5.2 innings, allowing 2 earned runs on 5 hits, while striking out 6. With the win, he raised his record to 3-1. The second-place Freedom have won 4 straight games.
It could have been a different outcome for Philadelphia, had it not been for Harold Stickells, the 23-year old left fielder . Stickells contributed a 2-run single in the top of the fourth inning to put Philadelphia up, 3-1.
In comments to the Philadelphia Today, Stickells admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
