Baristas Take Nail-Biter Over Escape
|
This fight went fifteen rounds and the Baristas came out the winner.
Silver Lake right-hander Mike Salter made an effective start against the Scranton Escape at Ashton Gate, leading his team to a 5-4 win. The last-place Baristas lifted their record to 66-93.
Silver Lake center fielder Brady Warren said he was just trying to make contact when he came to bat with the bases empty in the bottom of the 15th. He did more than that -- Warren hit a solo home run to stake Silver Lake to a 5-4 lead. His 8th home run of the season came off Scranton pitcher Katsunan Sato.
"This was one of those 'not to be denied' games," said Silver Lake field general José Alonzo.
