In a tight contest at Stanley Park, the Indian Wells Aeropostales edged the Vancouver Canadians by the score of 6-5. Indian Wells right fielder Chandler Eckard, who blasted 1 home run, was named the player of the game. Kevin Spurr sewed up the save, his 23rd. The 5th-place Aeropostales raised their record to 77-82.

Juan Negrón's at-bat in the top of the fifth was significant for the Aeropostales. Coming to the plate with runners on 1st and 2nd and Indian Wells trailing 4-3, the third baseman hit a run-scoring single.

"Not to put too fine a point on it," said Eckard, "but we really needed that win."
