|
Fort Worth Cats starter Bobby Mannix had all his pitches working at LaGrave Field. His stellar performance paved the way for an easy 8-2 Fort Worth win over the Coronado Phantoms. Mannix went 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 7. His record improves to 3-0. Robby Guzman got the save, his 39th in 47 chances.
Shimpei Fujita played a key role in the win. The Fort Worth pinch hitter hammered a grand slam home run in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, Fujita went 1-1 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once.
Coronado manager Jeffrey Graham said his team was "out of sync."
The first-place Cats now have a 5-game winning streak.
