Freeze Win in Glorious Fashion
|
The Minneapolis Freeze gave their fans something to talk about with a thrilling, walk-off win.
The Detroit Death Stars got a superb performance from second baseman Kol-in-sen Pai. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Minneapolis. The Freeze won the game, 5-4. In spite of the loss, Pai was named the player of the game. He was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The winner was Larry Greer in relief. His record improves to 8-3. Jim Unknown took the loss.
A key moment came in the bottom of the ninth inning when Freeze designated hitter Yen-nien Tong socked a first pitch circle change to right for a solo home run, putting Minneapolis up, 5-4.
"This place went bonkers at the end," Tong said.
The first-place Freeze have their sights set on making a deep playoff run.
