Islanders Bump Off Jacks, 2-0
|
Right-hander Ehrich Weiss mesmerized the Jacksonville Jacks while leading the Hawaii Islanders to a 2-0 victory. With the win, Hawaii pushes its record to 19-13.
The Islanders got a big at-bat from center fielder Zane Mogeni. For the game, Mogeni was 1 for 4 with a triple. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring triple. His 2nd triple of the season gave Hawaii a 1-0 lead.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Hawaii skipper Leland Ray. "I can't complain."
