The So Cal Republic defeated the Portland Beavers, 8-6, in Roberto Clemente League action at Waterfront Park. Jong-min Kim Jr. received player of the game honors. The 12-year veteran went 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Pin-zhen Au finished to wrap up his 7th save. With the win, So Cal goes to 16-16.

Kim Jr. had one of his biggest at-bats in the top of the seventh. Facing Daryl Harrison, the So Cal slugger hit a 2-run home run. Suddenly, what had been a 6-5 So Cal deficit turned into a 7-6 lead. For Kim Jr., it was his 6th home run of the season.
