The Pasadena Bumblebees beat the Detroit Death Stars, 4-2, at The Death Star. The win was largely due to the efforts of designated hitter Odalis Sánchez, who captured player of the game honors. He was 1-2 with 3 walks. Pasadena reliever Jerry Kennedy was credited with the win, to go to 2-0. Felipe Marés took the loss for Detroit. Picking up the save was Gilberto Chávez, his 15th.

Manny Serrantino aided the Pasadena cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth. For the game, the right fielder went 1-3 with a walk.

"It was just a matter of executing," said Pasadena manager Ramón Rosário.

Pasadena, now 65-90, holds last place in the Darryl Kile League Joe Torre Division.
