|
Zhao-ying Gai left his imprint on the 7-3 South Carolina win against the Cabo San Lucas Toreros. Gai, who is a three-time All-Star, was 2-2 with a double and 3 walks. He scored 2 times. Tom O'Day got the win, improving to 1-0. He pitched 5.1 innings, giving up 3 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 1. Getting the save was Si-hun Park, his 1st.
Baber Davi, who is a two-time Gold Glove Award winner, helped out the South Carolina cause in the top of the seventh inning with a 2-run double. For the game, the second baseman was 2 for 4 with a double and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2.
Davi called winning a team effort. "It's not the same guy every time," he said. "It's the sum of the parts."
With the win, South Carolina goes to 2-2.
