Phantoms Pick Up 6-2 Win
|
The Coronado Phantoms got a stellar performance from pitcher Fu-po Eng, who handcuffed the Albuquerque offense en route to a 6-2 win at Albuquerque Sports Stadium. Eng got the win, improving to 2-3. He allowed 6 hits and walked 2 over 6 innings. Eng allowed 2 earned runs. Their 69-85 record puts the Phantoms last in the Nick Adenhart League Bobby Cox Division.
Also making an impact was designated hitter Octávio Morales, who drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the first inning for the Phantoms. For the game, Morales went 2-4 with 2 doubles and a walk, while scoring 2 times.
In postgame comments, Morales told the Coronado Gazette: "Do people still doubt I give 100 percent?"
