In a well-pitched game between the Fort Worth Cats and the Vancouver Canadians, pitcher Yasuhiko Ito was superb. The Fort Worth left-hander was named the player of the game in Fort Worth's 1-0 win. Robby Guzman finished the game for Fort Worth and earned his 38th save. With the win, the Cats improved to 80-74.

Ito allowed no runs over 7.1 innings. He also racked up 7 strikeouts.

"Runs were at a premium," said Fort Worth manager Lowell Wise.
