Cacti Drop Aeropostales with Late Score
|
The first-place Albuquerque Cacti welcomed Indian Wells to Albuquerque Sports Stadium.
Indian Wells got a terrific performance from third baseman Pramana Djambek, but it wasn't enough to beat the Albuquerque Cacti. Albuquerque won the Albuquerque Sports Stadium contest, 6-4. Djambek was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Hisataro Sato earned the save for Albuquerque, his 45th of the year.
With one out in the bottom of the eighth, Sadaharu Taniguchi hit a go-ahead 2-run single. It was his 36th hit of the season and with it the Cacti took a 6-4 lead.
"Anytime we get it going, it puts a smile on my face," said Taniguchi.
The Cacti' win now puts them at 80-72.
