Titans Take Shellacking, Lose 14-2
|
The Bowling Green Racers pounded the Chicago Titans, 14-2, at Top of the Hill. Bowling Green shortstop Tynan Miller had a solid game. He went 3-4 with 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 7 for the Racers. Jorge Guerrero got the win, improving to 5-1. He worked 5.2 innings, giving up 1 run on 5 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1. The second-place Racers improved to 85-67.
An important at-bat for Bowling Green came with two out in the bottom of the first. With the bases loaded, Miller hit a grand slam, which contributed to the Racers win.
"You can't sugarcoat this one," said Chicago manager Bill Riordan. "We got the snot knocked out of us."
