Racers Bump Off Titans, 7-5

The Bowling Green Racers beat the Chicago Titans, 7-5, at Top of the Hill. Bowling Green left fielder Sam Lynch earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He was 4-5 with a double and 3 singles. He scored 2 times. Gerardo Garza got credit for the win, improving to 2-1. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1 innings. The Racers bumped their record to 84-67 with this latest triumph.
Bowling Green took a 6-5 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning. With no one out, designated hitter José Morín hit a 2-run home run that set the crowd abuzz.
"It wasn't our best performance," said Lynch, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
