Republic Pin 7-4 Loss on Beavers

The rain at Waterfront Park did not keep So Cal and Portland from finishing their game.
The So Cal Republic picked up a win at Waterfront Park, knocking off the Portland Beavers, 7-4. Starting pitcher Tanner Johnson, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Johnson got the win, improving to 3-3. He allowed 5 hits and walked 1 over 8 innings. Johnson allowed 4 earned runs. Pin-zhen Au picked up the save, his 6th.
Jon Pittman chipped in for So Cal, stroking a crucial 2-run triple in the top of the fourth inning. For the game, the left fielder was 3-5 with a triple and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"I felt good up there," said Pittman. "I saw the ball well."
With the win, So Cal elevates its record to 15-16.
