Roosevelt Roberts was superb against Detroit. The right-hander had a fastball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a 4-2 Raptors victory. Jason Engel finished to wrap up his 34th save. The third-place Raptors are now 72-77, the Death Stars 72-79.

The Raptors took the lead in the bottom of the second when Shoji Ando banged a two-out double. Omaha had been trailing 1-0, but Ando hit a 1-0 changeup from Felipe Marés for a bases-clearing double.

"I was able to get good plays made behind me," Roberts said. "And I was able to make pitches when I needed to make pitches."
