The Durham Bulls Athletic Park faithful were treated to a thrilling, walk-off win.
Fairfield Flash starter Jimmy Hunter pitched a strong game against the Scranton Escape at Durham Bulls Athletic Park, leading the Flash to a 6-5 win. Fairfield reliever Carlos Martínez was the winner. His record is now 2-2. Máximo Larreta took the loss.
The Flash were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when shortstop Yoshitake Morita turned a 0-2 sinker from Máximo Larreta into a grand slam home run. The walk-off home run electrified the Durham Bulls Athletic Park denizens and sent the Flash home with a thrilling 6-5 win.
"Winning in the last at-bat, there's nothing else like it," said Hunter.
Today's win puts Fairfield at 88-62, while Scranton falls to 73-77.
