Raiders Fall to .500 After Loss to Freeze
The Minneapolis Freeze knocked off the Reno Raiders, 8-1, at The Ice Box. Bob Nichols, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Minneapolis won. The shortstop was 3-4 with a triple and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Minneapolis starter Mitsuharu Nakashima was credited with the win after throwing 106 pitches over 7.1 innings. His record now stands at 8-2. The first-place Freeze have their sights set on making a deep playoff run.

Nichols contributed when he hit a 2-run triple in the bottom of the sixth. Coming with two outs and runners on 1st and 3rd, the triple proved to be critical to helping Minneapolis get the win.

"We were firing on all cylinders today," said Freeze manager John Justin.
