The inspired effort of Fairfield designated hitter Susumu Kono was not enough to prevent a 12-9 loss to the Scranton Escape. Kono was 3-6 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 4. Scranton reliever Bryan Billings picked up the win, upping his record to 5-6. Hirotada Nan took the loss. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for Scranton.

John Dyck was involved in some late-game drama. With one out in the top of the 14th, Dyck hit a run-scoring double. It helped Scranton snatch the win.

"Our team showed some gumption," said Dyck. "I like it."
