In a low-scoring tilt between the Scranton Escape and the Fairfield Flash, Bobby Lucio was the difference-maker. The Scranton right-hander earned player of the game honors in the 3-2 win. Reliever Bryan Billings picked up the win. His record improves to 4-6. Jamie Newitt took the loss. Máximo Larreta got credit for the save for Scranton. It was his 8th of the year.

Runs were few and far between in this one. So, Ashton Hairston's at-bat with two out in the top of the ninth was crucial. The Scranton center fielder hit a run-scoring double, to give his team a 3-2 lead.

"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Fairfield manager Gary Altman. "The effort was great."

Scranton goes to 72-76, Fairfield to 87-61.
