Reno left fielder Ken Donovan played a vital role in his team's 8-5 triumph over Minneapolis. He was 2-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for Reno. Reno reliever Matsuyo Sanu picked up the win, bumping his record to 4-0. Dave Sherrill was collared with the loss. Mei-shan Huang earned his 33rd save in 36 tries.

Donovan delivered in the top of the fourth inning for Reno. With the game tied and a runner on 2nd, the left fielder hit a 2-run home run to right-center.

"We'll savor this win," Donovan told the Reno News, "then get ready for the next game."

At 75-73, Reno is in second place in the Darryl Kile League Joe Torre Division.
