The South Carolina Bombers stymied the Cabo San Lucas Toreros, 4-1, at Bomber Ballpark. Jesús Dela, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He was 2 for 2 with 2 home runs, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for South Carolina. Ange Schmit got the win, improving to 5-1. He worked 8 innings, giving up 1 run on 5 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 3. With the win, South Carolina boosts its record to 18-11.
South Carolina grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Dela, who is a two-time All-Star, hit a 3-run home run. His 4th home run of the season put the Bombers out in front, 4-1.
"I like our mindset right now," said South Carolina manager Randy Huggett.
