The Bronx Bombers got a superb performance from pitcher Todd Mullins, but the Detroit Death Stars still won the game, 4-3. Mullins was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 6 innings of 5-hit ball. Detroit reliever Lorenzo Ortega picked up the win, upping his record to 11-6. Albert Giles was saddled with the loss. Raul Nunez converted his 37th save in 46 tries.

With one out in the top of the eighth, Sagramor Vob put Detroit in front, 4-3, with a 2-run double. The Death Stars went on to win the ballgame.

"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Vob told the Detroit Citizen.

The Death Stars sit in third place in the Darryl Kile League Joe Torre Division with a record of 71-75.
