Aeropostales Overcome Great Performance by Kruger in Win
|
Astoria got a terrific performance from right fielder Tony Kruger, but it wasn't enough to beat the Indian Wells Aeropostales. Indian Wells won the Stars Field contest, 5-4. Kruger was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He belted 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Anthony McIntyre earned the win for Indian Wells. He lasted 6.1 innings, allowing 1 earned run on 5 hits, while striking out 2. With the win, he raised his record to 5-4. The win puts the Aeropostales at 72-73, while the Argonauts drop to 64-80.
Chandler Eckard gave Indian Wells a good at-bat in the bottom of the third inning. With runners on 1st and 3rd, he hit a 2-run double to help send Indian Wells to the win.
"There are times you get yourself out and there are times you come through," Eckard said. "That's how it goes."
