Losing Streak Continues for Bumblebees with 7-0 Loss to Baristas
|
The Silver Lake Baristas stopped the Pasadena Bumblebees, 7-0, at Ashton Gate. The Baristas got a big game from Chan-ho Lim, who went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Silver Lake reliever Javier Vargas picked up the win to move to 4-2. António Mejía suffered the loss. Tomás Sameiro notched his 1st save in 4 chances.
The Baristas benefited from a costly error in the bottom of the fifth. With Ralph Hemphill at bat and Silver Lake leading 1-0, the Pasadena miscue allowed Silver Lake to plate 1 and take the lead, 2-0.
Hemphill told the Silver Lake Daily News: "I don't know which I enjoy more -- being a ballplayer or the perks that come with being a ballplayer."
Pasadena is in the throes of a 9-game skid.
