The Joplin Fireballs racked up a win at Albuquerque Sports Stadium, bumping off the Albuquerque Cacti, 8-4. Juan Lucero, who started for Joplin, pitched effectively for his team. Tomoyuki Kiyomizu closed the door for Joplin, picking up his 27th save of the year. The Fireballs move to 60-84 with the win, while the Cacti drop to 76-66.
Gil Keyworth chipped in for Joplin, stroking a crucial run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning. For the game, the center fielder was 1 for 5.
"I had pretty good command out there," said Lucero.
