Caterpillars Pull Even With 6-4 Victory
Fans who gathered at Underdogs Ballpark saw a good contest between the Peoria Caterpillars and Acapulco Banditos.

A 3-RBI performance from Yang Xing, who is tied for 7th in the DKL in bases on balls with 70, helped the Peoria Caterpillars beat the Acapulco Banditos, 6-4. Brian Lapointe picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Steve Burton was tagged with the loss. Jim Unknown was called on to finish, recording his 1st save.

The contest featured some late-game dramatics from Peoria catcher Corey Follows. In the top of the eighth inning, with two out and the bases loaded, Follows hit a run-scoring single to help Peoria seize the win.

"Good win for us," said Xing. "We'll lace up our cleats and go after the next one."

The Caterpillars, at 72-72, sit in third place in the Darryl Kile League Cito Gaston League.
