The Omaha Raptors beat the Scranton Escape, 6-5 at Anchorage Municipal Stadium, in part due to designated hitter Dave Watson, who nabbed player of the game honors. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Omaha reliever Luis Antonio Rodríguez picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Bryan Billings absorbed the loss. The 4th-place Raptors are now 68-72, the Escape 69-71.
The game hit a turning point in the bottom of the eighth inning, when the Raptors were trailing 5-4. Esteban Oliveira delivered a two-out 2-run double for Omaha, catapulting his team into the lead.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Scranton manager Julián Cancil. "The effort was great."
