Escape Fall Short, 6-5, at Omaha
|
The Omaha Raptors scored a 6-5 win versus the Scranton Escape at Anchorage Municipal Stadium. Omaha right fielder Shoji Ando nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. Omaha reliever Luis Antonio Rodríguez was the winner. His record is now 1-1. The losing pitcher was Taylor MacRuer. The save was credited to Jason Engel, his 30th.
Wilfred Bray's at-bat in the bottom of the fourth inning was a big one for Omaha. Coming to bat with one out, runners on 1st and 3rd and Omaha trailing 2-1, the third baseman grounded out, driving in 1 run.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Omaha manager Manuel Ruíz.
With the victory, the Raptors record now stands at 67-72.
