Pioneers Walk Off with 2-1 Win
|
The Maple Marauders wasted an inspired, 8-inning effort from starter Will Caron, falling 2-1 to the Vancouver Pioneers at The Royal Court at Jersey Yards. Vancouver reliever John Bunce picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Hariz Sahir absorbed the loss. The Pioneers have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 1st win in 4 games.
Edgardo Bustamante had a productive at-bat for the Pioneers with no one out in the bottom of the 11th. With the bases empty, the center fielder got hit by a pitch. The at-bat was important in the Vancouver win.
"This win should put a little bounce in our step," said Bustamante.
