The Vancouver Canadians beat the Scranton Escape, 7-5, at Hell Stadium. Vancouver left fielder Peer Ehles earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He was 2-5 with 2 doubles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Po-sin Pang was the winner. Over 6.2 innings, he allowed 5 runs on 10 hits, with 3 walks and no strikeouts. Alexis Coates closed it out for his 13th save.

Ehles contributed a big hit, a bases-clearing double, for Vancouver in the top of the third. With his team trailing 1-0, Ehles took a fastball from Bobby Lucio and stroked the double to left. His 16th double of the season allowed the Canadians to leap in front, 3-1.

"I hate to be the fly in the ointment," said Ehles, "but we could've played better."

After today's action, Vancouver sits at 67-70, while Scranton falls to 68-68.
