Freeze Squelch Freedom Offense in Shutout Win
|
Yaichiro Tamura never let the Freedom get in a groove. The left-hander used his bread and butter, his slider, to pitch the Freeze to a 4-0 win. Tamura, the winner, moves to 5-7. He threw 6.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 1 walk. The first-place Freeze, at 74-60, now lead their division by 6 games.
The Minneapolis dugout showed signs of unrest at times. But the Freeze put this one in the win column with some good pitching and some timely hitting at critical moments.
