The Peoria Caterpillars got a sterling performance from third baseman Luis Elías, but the Raiders still prevailed, 9-5. Elías was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He was 3-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Reno reliever Yuki Kokawa picked up the win to move to 4-2. Nate Chapman suffered the loss. Their 68-66 record puts the Raiders second in the Darryl Kile League Joe Torre Division.

Mike Duren changed the game with one swing of the bat. With one out in the top of the seventh, the Reno right fielder hammered a grand slam home run off Adam Stickells. It was his 3rd home run of the season. With it, Reno took the lead, 9-5.

"Good win for us," said Duren. "We'll lace up our cleats and go after the next one."
