Loss Extends Chicago Losing Streak
|
In a tight battle between the Antioch Coal Miners and the Chicago Titans, pitcher Lester Bisdu was in the zone. The Antioch right-hander was named the player of the game in Antioch's 3-1 win. Bisdu, the winner, moves to 16-6. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up 3 walks. Eddie Rosado earned the save for Antioch, his 34th of the year.
Jim Commo helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a 2-run single to give Antioch a 2-0 lead.
"Not to be Captain Obvious," said Chicago manager Bill Riordan, "but we need to push more runs across the plate."
The slumping Titans have lost 6 straight.
