Canadians Dump Bumblebees, 9-5
|
The Vancouver Canadians topped the Pasadena Bumblebees, 9-5, with shortstop Cesar Sandino playing a big role. Sandino went 1-4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4 for the Canadians in the win. The Canadians now have a record of 64-68 with the win over Pasadena.
Sandino turned the game around in the bottom of the seventh. That's when the Vancouver shortstop dialed up a grand slam home run. Just like that, Vancouver's 5-3 deficit turned into a 7-5 lead.
"Cesar is still learning," said Canadians manager John Harrison. "The sky's the limit for him."
