Bombers Topple Baristas with Late Rally
The Bronx Bombers got a magnificent effort from pitcher Gustavo Ortega, who kept Silver Lake hitters in check en route to a 3-1 Bombers win at Ashton Gate. Bronx reliever Ronald Stevens picked up the win, upping his record to 6-3. Silvino Fagundo was saddled with the loss. Ewan Pethick earned the save, his 17th, for the Bombers.

Both teams had trouble scoring runs. So, Jorge Guerrero's at-bat in the top of the eighth was huge. With one out, the Bronx third baseman hit a 2-run double, to give his team a 3-1 lead.

Guerrero called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."

With the win over Silver Lake, the Bombers improved to 50-79.
